Robert Mueller: By the Book Guy

Robert S. Mueller III, the Special Counsel, dodged questions as he gave his farewell statement on May 29, 2019. He believes his report can speak for itself. He is known as the "by the book" guy who avoids politics. But in the US now we are at an intersection of justice and politics. Congress has not yet moved toward impeachment, even as Mueller mentioned other constitutional remedies.

 Why does Mueller not want to voluntarily testify before Congress? One would think that he would want to see justice done. Why would he sit by and let Trump get away with lies and obstruction? Has Mueller compromised his principles in not being more aggressive toward Trump and Trump Jr.? Is Mueller ashamed that he did not push further for fear that Trump would fire him and throw the country into bigger chaos? Or is Mueller so used to being apolitical that he took another apolitical path of least resistance? My impression from his 9 minute speech is that he is not particularly proud and that he wants to avoid further public exposure.



Donald Trump and Robert Mueller could not be more different. Whereas Mueller felt bound by the Justice Department rules and proceeded legally to investigate and draw conclusions, Trump has total disregard for truth and the law. We only hear Trump, who has a Saturn conjunction Venus, whine that he is treated unfairly and not appreciated enough. 

 If we look at an astrological birth chart (Noon Chart) for Robert Mueller we see clear indications of his fondness for rules.


The most powerful influence is the T-square (in red) pointing to Saturn, planet bound by its clear defined rings. Everything is neatly in its place, just as Mueller strives to be. Pluto energy in semisextile to Saturn supports this. The involvement of the Moon in the T-square means that Mueller feels drawn emotionally to his work. With his Saturn in Cancer Mueller is well aware of his family history and for him "sense of the past weighs heavily on the present" (R. Elliot). Mueller could not go against the Justice Department rules or directly after his former friend William Barr. Saturn in Cancer makes the native more involved in keeping order in a family than in greater social justice. The Justice Department is Mueller's family and keeping unity and order there seemed paramount. 

Order and method are further emphasized in Mueller's chart by Mercury, Mars, Chiron and Jupiter being in Virgo, the sign of precision and order. Mercury square Uranus does give Mueller the ability to think outside the box and be creative when he needs to be.

Eris at 6 degrees of Aries is in exact square to Saturn indicating that Mueller will have an impact in the area of rules and norms. Pluto trine Eris (2 degrees) indicates that he will do this in a powerful way. In his long career in law enforcement Donald Trump is the most consequential criminal Mueller ever pursued. It is fitting that Mueller ends his career in this way.

On May 29, 2019, the day Mueller felt compelled to make his statement to the public, several transiting planets were making exact or near exact aspects to his natal planets. The transiting planets contacted his Saturn, Eris, Moon and Pluto, his key planets. The contacts were as follows: transiting Sun and Mars to natal Pluto, transiting Moon conjunction Moon, transiting Uranus to Saturn and Eris, transiting Chiron to natal Saturn and Eris. Uranus and Chiron will continue their effects on Mueller's Saturn and Eris, hopefully providing more impetus for proper action.

RBG and Antonin Scalia: An Unlikely Friendship

The two, now deceased, justices of the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia had an unusual, yet true friendship.
