Donald J. Trump:Just Animal

We are disappointed daily by Donald J. Trump. There is no evidence of humanity or reason. We are left with the stark realization that Trump is just an animal in human form. There is no great strategy to his behavior, as some strive to find. He is living for what feels good in the moment. He lashes out when he is questioned and challenged. He says what makes him look good in the moment. Truth does not matter. Trump's appeal is to people's baser instincts: selfishness, racism, greed. We should remember that he ran for presidency as a vanity project. He let it all hang out, which some people thought was genuine and just what the country needed. But, he never ran to help other people. It was all about attention getting and parading in front of cameras.

 Now we are living with the appalling realization that he will let tens of thousands die because he sees no benefit to himself in helping them. He gets perverse pleasure out of the pain people who dislike him are suffering. Covid-19 enables him to create a great deal of pain and chaos. This, in his mind, means that he is powerful. It is what pleases him. He punishes those who do not grovel in front of him. People call him "President Trump" out of respect for the office, but he deserves no more respect than a raging bull. The office has never sunk this low.

 Astrologically, Trump's insatiable need for love and attention is indicated by Venus conjunction Saturn. The vengefulness is indicated by the easily triggered Mars conjunction Ascendant. The instability and rapid reversals are indicated by the Sun conjunction Uranus in Gemini.

Trump is an agent of chaos and suffering. That is what he is here to deliver and he does it with gusto.

 On the planetary scale we are dealing with the effects of the newly discovered dwarf planet Eris. Nearly the size of Pluto, Eris unleashes social chaos. The transiting Eris is at (23,58) and Pluto is at (24,59). They are squaring and opposing Trump's Venus-Saturn conjunction, his Achilles' heel. The pressures of these transformative planets likely will increase his defensive behavior. He is failing miserably, but his fragile ego is too weak to handle the situation. So, he will lie and deny and more people will die.

 Trump rose to power because of the reactionary and disruptive forces brewing in the collective unconscious. He manifests this energy of chaos by smashing through norms, constitutional boundaries and common decency. He is aided by FOX News, Russian trolls, and sympathizers that revel in the upheaval he creates. This viral photo of Trump supporters protesting stay in place orders captures their mindless animal natures.

The lessons we need to learn collectively are the saving graces of reason, science, human empathy, and rules and laws of a functioning society. This reversion into animal-like chaos has to end.

Donald Trump and Boris Johnson: Men for our times ?

Are Donald Trump and Boris Johnson the right men for our times?  Do they really reflect where their countries are at this time?  It depends on whom you ask. The progressives would clearly say "No" because the chain of progress seems to have been  broken. Most of the less educated folks would say that it is time to dig in for a national identity, to bring back a more glorious past (MAGA) when they felt more honored and less threatened. The threat is to their majority, as the influx of browner immigrants is rising in number and status. This fear is at a primitive visceral level. They let the herd instinct take over. These are the people of the MAGA rallies. They are also the more economically threatened people. But, the top 1% has hitched on to this populist movement because they see that immigrants are scapegoated and not the 1% that keeps the wages stagnant and opportunities limited.
