Vladimir Putin: Death of Democracy
In his G-20 speech on June 28, 2019 Vladimir Putin declared that the world's liberal political order had "outlived its purpose." Putin openly revealed himself as the force against democracy. This is now possible for him to do because Trump agrees with him and Republicans do not dare to challenge Trump. The veil and gloves are off. The threat to 2020 US election is real. Putin will unleash his trolls and bots. He will succeed with people who have authoritarian and white nationalist tendencies. He may succeed in depressing turnout or sabotaging counting machines. 2020 election may well be uglier than 2016. Trump feels no need to hide his collusion this time. He said that he will accept foreign help.
2020 will be a titanic fight for the soul of America. Is the US going to contract to a caricature of the 1950's culture with exclusion of all those who do not look the part? That is absurd when you realize that over 40% of US population is not "white". Putin is using racism to draw a wedge and destroy the US. Why? He can not abide a country that is ruled by laws because it points to his crimes and lawlessness. Putin pursues power and wealth by any means possible. He is cynical and brutal. Same can be said of Trump.
Why are such men in power in 2019? There is a decided rise of authoritarians in the world as a whole. Collectively the world is experiencing an increase in fear and repression. The natural expectation was that there would be continued growth of freedom and human rights. But it seems that the collective unconscious is turning back the clock.
The cycles of wars, revolutions, economic recessions and other upheavals follow certain repetitive patterns. They inexplicably mirror the paths of planetary bodies in our Solar System. Steve Bannon refers to this time as the Fourth Turning in American history. He saw it in 2016 as an opportunity to radically change the US. With Trump elected we seem on the way.
But is this all there is to the story? We are recovering from the 2008 global recession that wiped out many financial institutions and the housing market. That coincided with a Uranus-Pluto square which, coincidentally, also occurred during the Great Depression of the 1930's. But we have also entered a Saturn-Pluto cycle which is characterized by increase in fear and contraction. Beyond Saturn, Uranus and Pluto lies another small planetary body discovered in 2006 and named Eris after the Greek goddess of discord. It is slightly smaller than Pluto and has a 558 year extreme elliptical orbit around the Sun. Stressful angles of Eris to the other outer planets seem to be associated with very unexpected and chaotic events. Would we expect this to coincide with the rise of the most chaotic president in US history? The answer is yes. Eris was in exact conjunction (less than 1 degree) to Uranus from early May to mid November 2016. The disruptive energy of Eris merged with the sudden change of Uranus to produce the shocking events of 2016. At the time of the conspiratorial Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, the conjunction was 0 degrees 1 minute apart in the Fire sign of Aries.
