Affinities: Tom Cruise and L. Ron Hubbard

The actor Tom Cruise is well known as a practicing Scientologist. While many people, including celebrities, have left Scientology, Cruise remains a staunch defender. L. Ron Hubbard was the charismatic founder of the Church of Scientology and the system of psychotherapy called Dianetics. Can Astrology shed light on why Scientology resonates so strongly with Cruise? The birth charts of Cruise and Hubbard are shown below.




Cruise and Hubbard charts both show Grand Trines in Water signs. Both have very prominent Neptune, with Cruise's as a tip of a T-square and with Hubbard's in aspects with 6 planets as well as with AC and MC. Hubbard has Sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces, while Cruise has Jupiter in Pisces as part of the Grand Trine containing Neptune and Sun. Both men have Uranus in aspect to Mars, meaning they can step outside the box. In Cruise's chart Uranus is conjunct Venus and both are squaring Mars as well as Neptune. In Hubbard's chart Uranus is in tight conjunction to Mars and both are opposing Neptune.

Cruise's chart shows a strong dominance of fixed signs, indicating that he is unlikely to change. Hubbard's chart shows dominance of Mutable signs, which may relate to the many changes and interests in his life. Cruise's Saturn is in a Yod (Finger of God) configuration, as well as being in opposition to his Venus, Moon and MC, as well as being in a fixed sign of Aquarius. This means that Cruise is extremely unlikely to change the rules he lives by. In Hubbard's chart Eris square Pluto, 0 degrees 3 minutes apart, may indicate an immense energy directed at transformation as well as destruction. It was Hubbard's aim to transform people, but in his process many people were damaged.

Trump and Hitler: Similarities

As Trump continues to destabilize the world through reckless actions, are we headed for another war? Does Donald Trump have it within him to cause violence and mass destruction? He did say that a nuclear war is winnable. When we think of the most destructive leader in world history we think of Adolf Hitler. With Hitler we know what he was capable of. With Trump that is still unknown and that is what I wish to address. Is Trump driven by similar subconscious motives that drove Hitler? Trump and Hitler both tapped into the racial grievances of the White masses. When the economy is not serving people they tend to want to eliminate those they see as competition. For Hitler Jews, Gypsies and other "lesser" ethnic groups were the targets. For Trump it is Muslims, Latinos and Blacks. Both employed brutal tactics to inflict pain on these minorities.
